CALL FOR PROGRAM PROPOSALS

The purpose of the National Council on Rehabilitation Education is to promote the improvement of rehabilitation services available to people with disabilities through quality education and rehabilitation research. The 2010 conference supports this purpose by focusing on Research and Education: The Foundations for Rehabilitation Service Delivery
This Call for Proposals is an opportunity for Rehabilitation educators, trainers, researchers, and HRD personnel to submit proposals that address state of the art practices and future directions in rehabilitation education and research. The theme of this year’s conference is intentionally broad to encourage proposals focusing on any aspect of rehabilitation education and research. The following are examples of possible areas of focus:
- Clinical Supervision
- Evidence Based Practice in Rehabilitation
- Rehabilitation Counseling Process
- Effective Rehabilitation Counseling Training Strategies
- Accreditation and Licensure
- Rehabilitation Ethics
- Multiple Rehabilitation Outcomes
We encourage submissions from the entire continuum of rehabilitation education including graduate, undergraduate and continuing education.
Proposal Process
Proposals should be submitted using an online submission form. Each proposal must provide the following information:
Title (80 characters)
Format (Concurrent / Poster session)
Willingness to present in a Different Format (e.g. poster session)
Content Description (2000 characters limit, including spaces and punctuation)
Purpose
Methods
Results
Research
Clinical
Conclusions
Implications
Research
Practice
Presenter(s) Contact Information
Structure of the Presentation (e.g., case example discussion, exercises, lecture, etc.)
List materials each attendee will be given.
Incomplete information may result in the denial of the submitted proposal.
Review and Notification Schedule
Proposals must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm (EST) Friday, January 8, 2010. Early submission is appreciated. Our goal is to inform you of the outcome by the first week of February 2010.
Upon your submission, you should see a statement on the screen “Thank you, your NCRE conference program proposal has been successfully received. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Chih Chin Chou at chouc@email.arizona.edu.” Please print out the confirmation statement for your own records. The contact person listed on your proposal will be notified of the Conference Program Referees’ decision to accept your proposal by February 19th 2010 by e-mail. Date and time of presentation will be sent after proof of registration is complete for the conference.
Availability of Presenter
Submission of this proposal is an acknowledgment that all proposal participants agree to:
- Be available to present the program on any day of the conference.
- Not charge a separate fee for attending your session.
- Pay the registration fee to attend the Conference.
- Present at no more than 2 one-hour sessions, additional poster submissions are welcome.
- Make presentation materials and activities accessible to participants who have sensory, motor, or other disabilities.
Audiovisual Equipment
Conference planners from NCRE will provide an overhead projector and screen to concurrent session presenters at no cost. Computers and LCD projectors will not be provided and are the responsibility of the presenters if required. If you require any other additional equipment, NCRE staff persons will provide you with information on ordering the equipment at your own expense. Requests for information to obtain additional equipment should be made to <satwal@csufresno.edu> by no later than March 5th 2010 and you will directed to the appropriate person to contact.
Poster board and supplies will be provided for poster sessions. Poster session presenters will not be provided audio-visual equipment.
