Duties of the Editor
The Editor of Rehabilitation Education will perform the following functions:
- Promote the improvement of rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities through the publication of articles related to high quality rehabilitation education and research,
- Solicit manuscripts for consideration for publication appropriate to the mission and purpose of NCRE,
- Facilitate journal manuscript submission, review, editing, and publication processes via a journal Internet website,
- Interface in a timely, efficient and professional manner with the NCRE Executive Board,
- Provide semi-annual written reports to the Board (October and February) related to the journal publication processes and outcomes,
- Maintain a presence and activity (e.g., presentations, meetings of the Editorial Advisory Board, solicitation of manuscripts, and attendance at the General Membership meeting) at the Annual Rehabilitation Educator’s Conference in February of each year,
- Facilitate the timely publication of 4 issues per year on a quarterly basis (March, June, September, and December),
- Follow the NCRE guidelines regarding the publication of special issues,
- Interface in a timely, efficient and professional manner with manuscript authors,
- Interface with members of Rehabilitation Education journal Editorial Advisory Board in a timely, efficient and professional manner,
- Interface with the publisher of the journal, Elliott and Fitzpatrick, Inc. (Timothy Field) in a timely, efficient and professional manner, and
- Provide oversight, direction and supervision to the journal Copy/Production Editor.
